BAE Systems' Electronic Systems (ES) sector is seeking a talented, motivated senior electrical engineer who wants to join a diverse team at a dynamic company that values your technical excellence. At our Greenlawn NY facility we design, develop and produce Identification (IFF), Mission Computer, and EO/IR equipment for the US Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Army and also for worldwide customers. The selected candidate will apply their skills in design and leadership in order to develop and support of a variety of complex defense products and technologies. The engineer, will acquire product knowledge, use and advance their technical skills while performing their assigned responsibilities in complex design, internal research and development efforts, mentoring and product development on DOD projects.

The duties assigned to this senior engineering position will be of a lead engineer, which will include the following: Complex electrical circuit design and analysis, firmware development, technical trade studies, evaluation of technology insertion/upgrades, laboratory test and troubleshooting, mentoring junior engineering talent and Cost Account Management. It will be expected that the candidate will have proficiency in state-of-the-art design and analysis tools, laboratory equipment and techniques, and executing in a small team environment.

Typical Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Solid electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in VHDL language and coding
  • Experience with FPGA's and microprocessors
  • Familiar with electrical engineering design, schematic capture and analysis tools
  • Experience with a laboratory environment and the ability to use test equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to mentor junior engineering talent
  • Eligible to obtain a DOD Security Clearance
Preferred Skills and Education
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
  • Cost Account Management experience (preferred)
