Senior Cyber Security Analyst
Candidate will oversee tracking of all reported security events/incidents and their resolution. Manage escalation and reporting of events/incidents using proper procedures. Review assessments and reports, documenting weekly trends of incidents, and security events. Coordinate strategic analysis in support of computer security incidents. Review patterns in reported compromises and identify additional threats as part of the same incident. Support senior personnel in performing forensic analysis of digital information and physical evidence. Manage specialized support in gathering, handling, examining, preparing, entering data, and searching, retrieving, identifying and/or comparing digital and/or physical evidence, and use forensically sound procedures to determine results. Instruct and enforce proper evidence custody and control procedures, documenting procedures and findings and preparing comprehensive written notes and reports. Oversee analysis of network/computer threats and mitigation of vulnerabilities while limiting operational impact.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must have familiarity with Federal, DoD, and industry information security requirements, and standards, and working knowledge of best practices for incident response, network architectures, current networking technologies, security requirements and features of networks and applications, and related security issues.
Possess three (3) years’ experience with any of the following basic skills:
Vulnerability Assessment, Antivirus administration, DISA STIG Knowledge and Understanding, Windows Server Update Services, IDS/IPS configuration/monitoring, E-Mail security, Firewalls, TCP/IP packet analysis, Log analysis, understanding of IT standards, including but not limited to the OSI model, and the methods of exploiting those standards.
Must possess one of the following: MCSE, GCIA, GCIH, CISSP, or CISM
