Senior Counter Intelligence (CI) Special Advisor

Global Analysis and Operations currently has an opening for a Senior Counter Intelligence (CI) Special Advisor. The CI Special Advisor is responsible to the CJ2X (Division Chief responsible for Counter and Human Intelligence) for all expert knowledge of CI activities, including the activities of CI Teams and CISTs, Locally Employed Persons (LEP) screening and HUMINT Collection in the command’s battlespace.

The Senior CI Special Advisor will provide intelligence support to fully exploit actionable intelligence, provide written and oral reports and briefings to senior leaders, and conduct quality assurance over CI/HUMINT analysis, HUMINT collection and CI activities. Additionally, the position will require travel (ground/air), as required, throughout the CJOA‐A, as appropriate, in order to accomplish intelligence support activities. Candidates filling this position shall be considered key personnel. The CI Special Advisor acts as the coordinator/special advisor to the CJ2X on all matters concerning Counterintelligence and HUMINT activities, including screening and HUMINT collection operations conducted within the CJOA‐A. This position requires a senior person able to interact with General Officer, SES and executive and ministerial level officials understanding and adapting to VIP protocols and tact. This position must maintain situational awareness of key CI and HUMINT issues within Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF), including Ministry of Defense (MOD), Ministry of Interior (MOI), National Directorate of Security (NDS) and will work on a daily basis with ISAF/USFOR‐A, ANSF, GIRoA and other applicable staff on ISAF/USFOR‐A and ANSF CI/HUMINT Architecture, CI/HUMINT Strategic partnership initiatives, and any initiatives or issues that arise either through guidance from the ISAF/USFOR‐A Commander or CJ2 leadership.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Education – Master’s Degree OR Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years additional experience

Experience- 10 years’ experience with former MOS 35L, 35M, 351UM, 97B, 97E, 35E, or civilian 1811/0132 (equivalent to GG-14 level) badged and credentialed Cl Agent or DoD joint service equivalents such as 18F =SF INTEL NCO or 180A SF WO with ASOT-111, USAF 7XOS1 -Special Investigator (SI)


Special skills or qualifications -

  • Experience supporting Cl operations or acting in the capacity of I performing the mission of a Cl agent
  • Possess expert level Cl knowledge and abilities
  • Possess proven experience at the tactical and operational levels in either Afghanistan or Iraq
  • Have familiarity with Coalition operations and staff procedures
  • Experience and familiarity with theater and division level Cl collection and exploitation operations
  • Proven abilities in the planning and conduct of screening and Cl collection operations
  • Medically qualified to conduct mission directed travel throughout CJOA-A Proficient at briefing senior leadership at the 06 level
  • Able to interact with senior leadership
  • Deployed experience
