Senior Contract Administrator

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a highly adaptable individual to join its Contracts/Subcontracts Team in California, MD. The individual must be able to work in a fast paced, challenging environment while supporting multiple proposals/programs with multiple contract types.

Duties will, but not limited to, include:

Preparing and validating recommended source lists of qualified subcontractors, drawing upon their past performance experience.

Coordinates the list with project management. Preparing Request for Proposal and verifying accuracy and completeness of proposal packages.

Interfaces with affected sections to clarify and ensure all necessary data has been incorporated appropriately.

Reviewing subcontractor proposals, determining each subcontractor's ability to meet BAE Systems and project requirements, and negotiate the terms and conditions.

Preparing subcontract documents and amendments, including identification and inclusion of cascaded requirements from the prime contract ensuring terms and conditions will be appropriate

Preparing reports and contractual correspondence for project management.

Coordinating and providing advice and interpretation of contract/subcontract requirements to both internal and external customers. Acting as interface between program management and other external customers.

Performing price analysis to ensure reasonableness of pricing for BAE Systems and all other interested parties.

Performing subcontract closeout actions, completes file documentation, and transfer files accordingly.

Assist with reviewing and preparing Request for Proposals and verifies accuracy and completeness of proposal packages. Interfacing with affected sections to clarify and ensure all necessary data has been included.

Preparing and reviewing subcontract documents and amendments, including identification and inclusion of terms and conditions. Ensuring all applicable terms and conditions are appropriate.

Provide subcontract administration, and assist with contract/subcontract negotiations.

Monitor subcontract cost performance along with Program Business Management and Finance.
Ensure subcontract compliance with all laws and regulations.

Preparing reports and contractual correspondence for project management and client. Establishing and maintaining accurate tracking records tailored to each subcontract.

Performing and/or approving subcontract closeout actions, completing file documentation, and forward subcontract files to the designated functions

Communicating and discussing status of contract/subcontracts actions both pre and post award.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
BA and 4-6 years of related experience.
Familiarity, understanding and application of the following:
Government contracting principles including FAR, DFARS and Federal/State regulations.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
Communicates effectively, both verbally and written
Capable of executing to established processes and procedures
Exhibits high level of motivation, attention to detail, and energetic approach to job duties
