Electronic Combat Solutions Hardware Engineering Group is looking for a Senior Digital Design Engineer to develop and support Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) methods and Tools for FPGA designs through all phases of development.
The ideal candidate is expected to perform the activities required for the build and compilation process of large complex FPGA designs in our Linux environment.
This includes the invention and modification of all aspects of the frontend and backend build flow as you will have the opportunity to evaluate the latest tools and automate processes.
The role also includes maintaining the repository of existing design components and refining and improving the reuse design and strategy of components.
In this role the successful candidate will work alongside a team of senior architects, digital designers, digital verification, and hardware engineers and be a key part of a high performance team delivering advanced electronic solutions with the latest industry technology and tools. You should be a self-starter and good team player willing to be mentored and to mentor.

There are multiple growth paths for the individual, technically or otherwise - RTL design, verification, Technical Lead on future programs, Cost Account Manager, or Functional Manager to highlight a few.

The position requires a U.S. person with the ability to obtain a minimum of Secret Clearance.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with bachelor's degree (less with an advanced degree)
    • In lieu of experience we will consider candidates with a demonstrated passion and aptitude for complex scripting and tool creation and an urge to drive efficiencies and champion best-practices
  • Experience in FPGA or ASIC Design build and simulation environments
  • Experience with at least one - tcl, perl, python, makefiles
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. GIT, CVS, Clearcase) and bug tracking utilities
  • A passion to develop, document, and communicate the process
Preferred Skills and Education
  • Experience with Linux and/or Unix
  • Familiarity with VHDL or Verilog
  • Familiarity with Xilinx ISE/Vivado or Altera Quartus
  • Digital simulation experience using Modelsim/QuestaSim
  • Working knowledge of C/C++
