Security Specialist II
Individual will work under the guidance and direction of the Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO). The assignments of the Security Specialist II include: program security support, security education and awareness, document control, personnel security, and other security support activities as assigned by the CPSO/ACPSO. Prepare and conduct Program Security Awareness Briefings, assist with developing security plans, goals, and objectives to comply with existing directives and future requirements. Assist briefing & indoctrinating program personnel on the proper application of security procedures. Interpret and provide classification guidance to employees, participate in self inspections and audits, and investigate security incidents. Support other security related tasks as assigned by the CPSO. Normal office environment; may work extended hours, weekends, and carry on-call pager. Travel may be required on a limited basis.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Required education: Bachelor Degree or four additional years of experience in lieu of a degree Preferred Skills and Education The successful applicant will demonstrate working knowledge of the DoD SAP Manuals. Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions. Must have a professional demeanor, good people skills, ability to communicate effectively, and be able to perform in a multi-tasked, dynamic environment.
Completion of either SAP Orientation or SAP Mid-level is a plus.
