Security Specialist I - INFOSEC Specialist

Exercises discretion and independent judgment in performing the following tasks:

  • INFOSEC Office responsibilities to include, but not limited to: document control, classified transmittals, barcoding, classified destruction, badging, fingerprinting etc.
  • Ensures compliance within the facility/Campus to the 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule (National Industrial Security Operating Manual) and demonstrates competency to all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
  • Preserve confidentiality, integrity, and contractually obligated requirements to ensure the protection of classified and Company Protected Information.
  • Oversees compliance with the Special Security Agreement between the US government and foreign owners as well as compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Provides security guidance to company personnel.
  • Conducts security briefings/debriefings.
  • Assists with Security reviews to include: Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) assessments/visits, formal self-inspections, within all BAE SYSTEMS facilities (SAV).
  • Assists in the investigations/interviews of non-compliance matters to support issuance of Security violations to employees. Completes appropriate documentation according to company and government directives.
  • ABILITY TO OBTAIN SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE WITHIN 6 MONTHS REQUIRED.

  • Ability to maintain positive attitude and excellent customer service skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, to include strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth in the primary duties and responsibilities section above.
  • Must be able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers.
  • Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents, and utilize various office tools (i.e. MS Office, SIMS, DISS, NISS).
  • Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Follow established processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements.

Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Experience
Two to four or more years of related security experience. Prefer experience in one or more of the following areas: Department of Defense (DoD) security communities, Communications Security (COMSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), export security issues.
