Technology Solutions is seeking a Principal Research Scientist to develop and mature advanced materials and manufacturing methods. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the state of the art in micro and nano fabrication technologies. The candidate's concepts in additive manufacturing of components for implementing a new generation of system integration of prototypes, and transitioning them into production of advanced military capabilities.
This research and development position requires a highly experienced scientist to work in component development in support of RF and optical systems. It also requires a strong technical background with experience applying material science and developing processes to "engineer" specific properties such as tunability. Modeling, fabrication and implementation of optical and/or RF materials is key. Assignments will require excellent problem solving abilities, hands-on leadership and systems-level thinking. Successful technical contributors will be comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams, present ongoing program work to customers as well as proposing concepts for new projects.
Duties may include leading research and development projects, contributing to component and system designs, and interpretation of system requirements on component design and performance. These requirements will be translated into modeled performance and design with oversight of fabrication, test and hardware integration. This position may require travel up to 10% of the time to support presentations and system reviews at the employer's discretion.
