BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Operations Department Scheduling Specialist to be a part of our dynamic team at Wallops Island Virginia in the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the functionality and configuration of AEGIS tactical systems and interfaces.
The selected candidate will support the Operations Officer and Scheduling Officer to:
- Focus mission scheduling efforts on Projected mission events outside the current 4-week window
- Receive customer requests for test time on the AEGIS System
- Identify tactical system, live interface, simulation and software requirements for requested system time.
- De-conflict equipment assets requested by multiple customers for the same time period
- Facilitate Projections scheduling meetings and contact mission POC's to negotiate conflicting requests
- Respond to and execute Operations Officer and Scheduling Officer guidelines and directives for scheduling projections
- Develop mission schedule projections for SCSC
- Make recommendations to mission POC's or Test Conductors concerning site capability
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Education nd relevant/related years of experience required: High School/GED and at least 5 years experience in system level operation and configuration of AEGIS tactical systems and interfaces, including deconflicting mission customer requirements and executing a mission schedule. Knowledge of scheduling tools AEGIS baselines, supporting peripheral equipment and communication systems for coordination, scheduling and de-confliction of Combat Systems. Experience in facilitating mission activities as well as evaluating the impact of projected mission requests to the site scheduled.
Security clearance requirement: Eligible to obtain and maintain a final DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer with a delayed start date until an interim Secret clearance is granted.
Preferred Skills and Education
Highly desired, but not required:
Active DoD security clearance
Experience with TRMS scheduling tool
Experience in an RDT&E environment
Experience with Microsoft Projects
