The selected candidate will apply standard practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical, or other disciplines in providing support for ongoing technical programs. Work will consist of performing depot level overhaul/refurbishment of AIMS MKXII/MKIIA Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) equipment by inspecting, testing, adjusting, and certifying basic assemblies and systems for compliance with specifications and quality assurance practices; repairing malfunctions by adjusting, calibrating, aligning, or modifying circuitry using hand or power tools; setting up standard test apparatus and conducting operational tests: installing basic equipment field changes; and performing other duties as assigned. Remove and replace both through hole and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components. Candidate will travel 10-20% of the time to assist with shipboard/shore based system installations and test events. Tasking will involve, but is not limited to, climbing aloft to perform antenna maintenance and lifting/carrying heavy objects. Candidate will travel to ship location and complete assigned tasks; this may require extended hours or weekends to support installations and test events. Assigned work shall include assisting technicians of all skill levels; performing evaluation and testing, integration of Combat Identification equipment including Mark XII and Mark XIIA; and related technical duties. Will work closely with BAE Systems personnel, subcontractors, and on site Government customers.
Thisposition is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary'sCounty Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval AirStation.
Thereis no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in orstate willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland orsurrounding areas.
