SCA Automotive Worker
The Automotive Worker performs a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain motor vehicles. The Automotive Worker places and maintains decals on vehicles, checks and replaces batteries, rotates, repairs, and replaces tires, washes, polishes, and cleans interiors and exteriors of vehicles, drains, flushes, and replaces engine, transmission, and differential grease and oils, checks, cleans, calibrates, and replaces spark plugs, cleans and replaces oil and air filters. The Automotive Worker adjusts brakes, replaces windshield wipers, and similar minor parts, assists on major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, repairing components such as generators and water pumps, and replacing thermostats, points, electrical wiring and other items, maintains tools and equipment, and cleans work areas.
Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping,
bending, squatting, and reaching. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors. Work environment
includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
SCA Hourly Rate $15.81
This is a temporary position. Minimum Education and Experience High School/GED Required Skills and Education
- Required education: High School/GED 2 years’ entry level automotive maintenance experience
- Valid Driver License
- Ability to obtain and hold Public Trust clearance
- Ability to pass Pre-employment Drug Test and Background Screening
- Knowledge in US Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1
Preferred Skills and Education
- CDL Class B or higher
- ASE Certification
- US Army 91 Series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent
