SACCS Senior Network Engineer
BAE Systems is offering exciting new opportunities to be involved in sustaining critical systems supporting the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). The USAF has initiated a replacement for the Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS) to address obsolescence issues, diminishing manufacturing sources, challenges interfacing with advancing telecommunication and enterprise networks, and sustainment costs. This program actually encompasses units and locations outside the ICBM forces and are located around the world.
We are looking for employees who are excited to be involved in the first replacement of this system since it was fielded in 1963. SACCS requires the development, testing, production and delivery of replacement hardware/software including suppor to to facilitate fielding, system training, spares and technical orders. This position will provide direct support to the ICBM Systems Directorate program manager and lead engineer who have responsibility as the system integrator. This role places the candidate directly alongside the government as they plan and execute the acquisition and sustainment strategies.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
BS in related technical field and 4-6 years' experience in related field.
Experience in network design and/or deployment; requirements validation and verification; architecture design and development
Preferred Skills and Education
Experience in DOD acquisition processes per DOD 5000-series instructions. Experience in ICBM domain, specifically communications, either in military or industry.
