Reliability Engineer I

Job Description

Entry level position where with the successful candidate can learn to perform the following tasks:

Provide Reliability mathematical analysis and technical inputs to system design and detailed designs to ensure a robust, high level reliable design for maximizing availability and sustainment to minimize the logistics footprint.
Understand requirements breakdown and effect on allocation development. Learn various methods to perform allocations and perform one method to at last the subsystem level.
Prepare RAM prediction and assessment models to at least the subsystem level.
Prepare inputs to Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis for early design (functional FMECA) through final design to at least the subsystem level. Track mitigation or elimination of failures modes to assess improvements.

Prepare reliability mathematical models and/or reliability block diagrams to at least the subsystem level.
Input Test Incident Reports (TIRs) into Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) database and interface with design team to address potential failure mode mitigation/elimination to at least the subsystem level.
Develop and maintain reliability critical items list to at least the subsystem level. Use to assist design influence and track modifications to assist in assessing program success.
Perform Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to at least the subsystem level and apply results to perform design influence.
Understand impact of software in relation to reliability and address software reliability from a design influence perspective to at least the subsystem level.
Provide assistance to planning of Reliability Enhancement Testing (RET) and reliability demonstration testing. Track and monitor system

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Bachelors degree in Engineering or related Science degree..

Ability to learn how to prepare RAM analyses IAW GEIA-STD-0009 including allocations, predictions, FMECA, FRACAS, RBD/FTA, reliability growth modelling and assessment. Ability to influence design in an IPT environment. Proficient at technical writing in support of RAM reports and proposals as well as Basis Of Estimate development

Preferred Skills and Education

Experience with WQS Relex reliability software.
Member of American Society for Quality Reliability Division
Relevant Internship/Work Experience.
