Radar Systems Electronics Technician III

The selected candidate will support integration, modernization, and lifetime support services of the AN/UPX-29(V). The candidate will provide training to shipboard IFF system technicians with NEC 1571 (V06B)/1572 (V07B) or equivalent on the AN/UPX-29(V) system upgrades and will participate in acceptance tests and other higher-level combat systems test events both at land based test sites and at sea. The candidate will provide technical services in support of the AN/UPX-29(V) Interrogator System during grooms, Combat System Ship Qualification Trials (CSSQT), and Material Condition Assessments (MCA) and will interface directly with ships force department heads to provide high-level status updates and recommend corrective action.
The candidate will serve as a technical liaison and provide technical support for the AN/UPX-29(V) to the United States Navy as well as Foreign Military Sales (FMS) for Australia, Japan, and Korea and will coordinate the procurement, assembly and testing of Field Change (FC) retrofit kits for FMS. The candidate will update FMS technical manuals for applicable FC installations and will review engineering change proposals (ECP) for accuracy and applicability. The candidate will perform platform certifications to include Conus and Oconus sites. Will also be conducting data analysis to verify technical specifications are met during acceptance testing. The candidate will also be working with senior systems engineers supporting combat system baseline project teams for various integration efforts.
The candidate must be willing to travel 20% - 30% of the time to assist with shipboard/shore-based system installations and test events; work on-board ships to accomplish assignments; exert frequent energy, such as climbing to go aloft for antenna maintenance and lifting/carrying heavy objects; required to work overtime hours or weekends to support installations and test events; required to work in disagreeable environmental conditions. Assigned work will include assisting other technicians and working on projects involving Combat Identification equipment including Mark XII and Mark XIIA systems. Will work closely with BAE Systems personnel, subcontractors, and onsite Government customers.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County on the Patuxent River Naval Air Stations, Saint Inigoes annex. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Skills and Education
High school diploma and a minimum of 10 years of experience with shipboard electronic systems
NEC 1571(V06B) or equivalent AN/UPX-29(V)
NEC 1572(V07B) or equivalent AIMS system Technician
Active security clearance and ability to maintain
Ability to climb aloft for antenna maintenance and lift/carry heavy objects
Preferred Skills and Education
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - Maritime Training (OSHA 1915)
Certified solder technician specializing in SMT, lead free and through hole
