QA Inspector IV

Job Description

The selected candidate will be well organized, highly motivated professional with excellent oral and written communication skills. He/she will interface with Trade Supervisors, Ship Superintendents, and Customer Representatives regarding quality issues. She/he will be required to handle multiple assignments, read and interpret customer specifications requirements. Perform and document in-process and final inspections as required by the contract inspection plan. The candidate will be required to monitor Norfolk Ship Repair personnel and subcontractors in-process work and be able to determine and document deficient work on a Norfolk Ship Repair Deficiency Report and follow up on corrective actions taken. Employee must have a good work, safety and attendance record.

Required Skills and Education

Ability to verify that personnel are using correct material, tools, working area shown in drawing/specifications. Abel too inspect blanking and tagging and that customer requirements are being followed. Successfully completing the PCMS Installation Training Course and performing the check points. Be a liaison between NSSA, BAE Systems Production and Customer Representative for problem areas concerning the contracts being worked. Resolving conflicts and writing deficiency reports as needed. Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Window Programs and able to work in a QA data base built from access with form filled text entry.

Preferred Skills and Education

The selected candidate should have experience in performing check points and having a thorough knowledge of the work requirements being presented on the inspection. Non Destructive Testing knowledge a plus.
