Project Manager - Technical

Job Description
This is a Senior Project Manager (PM) role embedded in the Network Operations team of a large scale managed IT services organization. PM will be an integral member of the Network Operations team, responsible for end to end execution of IT projects following a PMI based PM methodology. Projects range in size and scope from mid-size to large scale projects and strategic initiatives. Projects will be related to the services within Network Operations including WAN, LAN, Voice, Video, Remote Access, and Wireless projects as well as corporate facility stand ups and moves as they relate to network scope. The Network Operations PM will leverage strong communication and decision making skills to engage with multiple stakeholder groups including technical SMEs from multiple service areas, customer POCs, and leadership to name a few.

  • Applies extensive expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines
  • Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
  • Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives
  • ITIL Foundations, ITIL Practitioner, Network or other technical certifications
  • Experience in an IT Service Delivery organization
  • Business Case development experience
  • Life Cycle Management experience
  • Experience executing small, medium, and large projects through the entire project management lifecycle
  • Experience in an IT Service Delivery organization
Required Skills and Education
  • PMP Certification
  • Expertise in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage in a matrix environment as well as ability to manage virtual teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, disciplined
  • Strong risk management, requirements management, and planning & analysis skills
  • Business and strategic plan development
  • Financial modeling experience
