Project Manager (RDX Expansion)
Due to continued growth BAE Systems, one of the world's largest defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is currently looking for a Project Manager to support our RDX Expansion program. Reporting to the Holston RDX Expansion Program Manager, the Project Manager will primarily support the Program Manager at Holston Army Ammunition Plant (HSAAP) and will also serve as an active manager of projects at HSAAP.
Specific duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
o Represents projects at Holston in upper management site meetings and in customer briefings/presentations.
o Monitors project at Holston with regard to the following project management practice areas that he/she is assigned to manage:
- Project Integration
- Scope Management
- Time Management (schedules)
- Cost Management
- Quality Management
- Communications Management
- Risks/Opportunities Management
- Construction Progress / Construction Monitoring
- Customer Relations Management
- Holston Support Groups Coordination (Safety, Environmental, Security, etc.)
o Provides regular reports to the Holston Portfolio Program Manager on all projects at Holston projects he/she is responsible for.
o Solves complex technical problems by providing leadership for developing project plans and their implementation.
o Communicates summaries and recommendations to the Holston Portfolio Program Manager based on assessment of internal and external resources.
o Foresees difficulties and reacts to communicate and avoid misunderstanding.
o Serves as primary interface for internal and external customers.
o Serves as point of contact for subcontractors, providing leadership and direction to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.
o Determines project scope of work, project performance criteria and fitness for use. o Identifies work elements of the project.
o Assigns work and follow-up as project demands.
o Sequences and schedules the project work elements and determines the resources required for each work element.
o Prepares cost estimates and establishes budgets for the project work elements.
o Partners with Procurement Department to obtain bid quotations from subcontract and materials suppliers.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
o A four-year degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Chemistry or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
o Experience working on industrial construction projects and working with subcontractors to execute projects.
Preferred Skills and Education
o A minimum of 3 years of experience working within projects on design and engineering, design-build, construction, or engineer-procure-construct (EPC) projects with a concentration in the industrial sector preferred.
o Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent.
o Experience in managing projects for the US Department of Defense preferred.
o Experience developing proposals and statements of work
o Creating presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
o Experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.
o Experience working on multi-million dollar industrial construction projects.
o Profit & Loss experience.
o Earned Value Management (EVMS) experience.
