Service Area Project Manager
Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Security System Design and Integration (SSDI) Program
FAA Western Region - Seattle, WA

This is a contingent position pending contract award with a contract start expected in Fall 2018.
All work will be performed on-site. Position requires US Citizenship and a security clearance.

The Service Area Project Manager will serve as the BAE Systems' Service Area Point of Contact (POC) and lead program activities for the FAA SSDI program supporting physical and facility security. This program consists of multiple projects to design, install, test, and integrate complex systems and facilities located at numerous sites throughout the FAA regions and centers. The work efforts expended on these facilities and/or systems are to bring them to a point where they are ready for full acceptance.

As the Service Area POC, this position will interface and coordinate with the FAA's operation and contract management teams to assure that the quality, timeliness, and cost efficiencies of all efforts are delivered under the contract.

Work will be performed under the guidance of the Program Manager to oversee large, complex delivery orders and assist Program Manager and interact with Contracting Office, Contracting Officer's Representatives, government management personnel, and customer agency representatives.

This position will be responsible for overall management of specific Task Orders and perform integration planning and interface with subcontractors and other government contractors to ensure that the technical solutions and schedules in the delivery order are implemented in a timely manner.

POC must be able to follow established procedures and controls to ensure that projects are completed in accordance with agreed - to standards and time limits specified in the Task Orders.

Typical Education & Experience

12+ years of related experience with additional specialized experience

A Bachelor Degree or equivalent in, Management, Engineering, Business, Architecture, or Science is required. Professional Engineer (PE) certifications in lieu of a Bachelor's degree will be considered.

Program Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is desired.

Experience in lieu of a degree:
May consider additional related experience in lieu of a degree as permitted by the contract.

Equivalent experience/Degree Exceptions include:
Two (2) years of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of educational experience. For example, a 4-year degree requirement may be substituted with 8 years of relevant job experience. HVAC and mechanical experience is not considered relevant security substitution.

Note: Substitution of experience must be current and relevant to be considered a proper substitution.

Required Skills and Education

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Current DOD Secret security clearance
  • Experience supporting FAA programs (current/within last five years)
  • Experience supporting physical and facility security
  • 12+ years of progressive general engineering related management experience in design, installation, integration, and testing of complex electronics equipment AND INCLUDING
  • 7+ years of general experience in design, installation, testing, and integration of complex systems and subsystems AND INCLUDING
  • 5+ years of specialized experience in the direct supervision and management of projects AND INCLUDING
  • 2+ years of experience managing highly technical installation projects and subordinate groups of at least 30 people.
  • Experience maintaining communications with FAA personnel and assuring that all activities are fully coordinated with all appropriate FAA representatives and organizations.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills, interpersonal relationships, and managerial techniques.
Preferred Skills and Education

Preferred Skills/Experience include:
Program Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is desired
