Procurement - Buyer/Planner

Job Description

BAE Systems in Louisville, KY has an opportunity for a Procurement Analyst I - Buyer/Planner within Weapon Systems in the Platform and Services Sector. This position is responsible for validating recommendations from Oracle ASCP to balance supply and demand for each and every part being signaled . Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensures timely release of requisitions to buyers
  • Group demands to reduce impact to buyers
  • Reduces/eliminates potential excess inventory for direct material (transfer)
  • Reviews, evaluates and approves changes on ECO impacts to the buyers
  • Currently monitors planning parameters to reduce the number of shipments
  • Support Drop Ship programs by performing all Material Planning Control functions
  • Identifies & Corrects upstream errors to eliminate negative impact to buyers
  • Reviews, evaluates and approves request of material for needs other than production.
  • Validate & manually input delivery location, ISO demands, notes to buyers on reqs, utilization of raw material remnants
Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Ability to multi-task and perform in a dynamic, fast paced, production environment
Effective organizational skills to effectively manage timelines, customer requirements and work flow requirements
Proficiency to analyze information in ERP, and make critical decisions to support procurement team
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers and suppliers
Ability to perform effectively and independently
Strong problem solving skills and ability to think strategically
Ability to quickly assimilate new information, processes and tools

Preferred Skills and Education

Experience with Oracle
Proficiency in Microsoft applications
