Principal User Transition Lead

The role of a User Transition Site Lead is to manage the transition of groups of end users to a worldwide enterprise virtual desktop system. This involves coordinating the efforts of a full transition team, communicating with the Government and project management, and serving as the user-facing interface for all transition activities at a site and its dependent sites.

The User Transition Site Lead must be a skilled Windows Systems Administrator familiar with Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, Citrix, and other technologies used in the system baseline, and will be trained in the details of the system’s implementation, and the specific tools the Team is using to transition user data and identity to the system. The User Transition Site Lead will be responsible for handling white-glove and capstone users, and will coordinate efforts of subordinate Transition Team members supporting general user populations. The User Transition Site Lead will work with the engineers, vendors and customer site support engineers to help resolve complex issues. Approximately 50% travel is required, for up to 60 days at a time. Candidate should remain flexible as they may be required to shift support from one customer to another or provide matrix support to the larger program.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education · Serve as the Senior Level escalation point for all technical issues related to the user transition at a site.

  • Coordinate and optimize Transition Team activities at a given site.
  • Assist the Task Order Manager and the Service Operations Manager in coordinating and managing transitions of user populations.
  • Perform white-glove transitions of VIPs and Capstone users.
  • Lead communications with user communities at sites, and coordinate with site staff and supporting contractors.
  • Communicate/coordinate scheduled PM windows with potentially impacted customers.
  • Assist in writing ITDR plans and lead the execution and testing of ITDR plans

. Manage and train junior Transition Team members.

  • 9-12 years of experience in system administration of Windows based solutions.
  • 9-12 years of experience in one or more of the following technologies:

Microsoft Server 2012 R2

Windows 7

Microsoft Hyper-V Server

Microsoft Exchange

Active Directory

Preferred Skills and Education · Microsoft Back-end Office (Email, Skype for Business)

  • Microsoft DHCP and DNS server roles
  • Windows 10 & Microsoft Server 2016
  • SQL Database 2014/2016
  • Cisco & McAfee Security Appliances
  • Dell Networking Appliances
