Principal Semiconductor Yield Engineer

BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Semiconductor Product Engineer to join the Advanced Microwave Product Center located in Nashua, NH. The applicant’s primary responsibilities will be statistical data analysis and yield improvement. Successful candidates will have a good understanding of GaN RF device structure and performance parameters. Ability to collect and correlate data across organizational lines with a relational database is required. S/he is expected to quantify sources of yield loss, and support foundry engineers in finding root cause and corrective action. An understanding of semiconductor processing, process integration, and failure analysis methods is highly desired. The candidate will participate in new device development, product qualification, production process optimization, and product transition from engineering to operations. Multi-tasking is expected in our fast-paced environment with delivery commitments to both internal and external customers. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Experience in business capture, including idea formulation, customer briefing, and proposal writing is a plus.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Solid knowledge of semiconductor device physics, in particular RF/microwave field effect transistors

Experience with RF and digital electrical characterization (DC, RF)

Ability to multi-task, functioning both as individual contributor and as team leader in multiple projects

Demonstrated ability to lead and execute projects within budget and schedule constraints

Strong background in statistical data analysis

Strong verbal and written communication skills Preferred Skills and Education MS in semiconductor related fields and 7+ years of work experience; or PhD in semiconductor related fields and 3+ years of work experience

Experience with GaN-based RF devices

Basic knowledge of device failure analysis and related analytical tools (e.g. SEM, FIB, TEM, etc.)

Experience with JMP & PROMIS software

Experience working in defense contract manufacturing or equivalent environment
