BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a Fortune 500 Company, is looking to add a Principal Contract Administrator, Production and Commercial contracts to help implement industry-leading contracting practices in support of our growing business to be located in either Minneapolis, MN or Louisville KY.

Responsibilities
Establishes highest-level contract strategy and drives implementation of strategic contract opportunities with the most significant impact to the corporation. Provides contractual domain expertise in implementation, execution and administration. Participates in development of business alliances and partnering, acquisitions and divestitures. Provides guidance and leadership to cross-functional business team members. May mentor junior contract professionals. Provide formal training in contract domain expertise. Champions contract policy and procedure revision and improvement. Lead negotiation responsibilities. Understands the business case and has an appreciation of financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implications. Support role in s election, training, development and, eventually, review of subordinates. Serve as a coordinator and, at times, instructor of the contracts training program. Primary point of contact between the Company and the Customer for all contractual matters on assigned contracts and projects including auxiliary agreements such as Proprietary Information Agreements and Teaming Agreements.

Provide analysis of solicitations, assure that bid/proposals are prepared and presented in a manner so as to afford the Company the greatest opportunity to obtain the contract award while minimizing associated liabilities and risk, support independent proposal reviews (Red Teams, Phase Reviews). May participate as an assessor in the Project Lifecycle Review Process. Expert knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties. Experience in drafting and negotiating complex teaming arrangements, manufacturing licenses or other types of contracting arrangements. Demonstrate specialized knowledge in an area of contracting such as, but not limited to international contracting, certain contract types, commercial contracting, joint ventures, strategic alliances and intellectual property.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

• Bachelor Degree and 8+ years relevant experience required to include at least:

• Cost Type / Cost-Plus Contract experience

• Firm Fixed Price Contract experience

• Prime Contract experience

• Expert knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations (Federal Acquisition Regulations / Defense FAR Supplement)

• Experience with complex contracts and proposal preparation and execution

• Experience briefing senior level management

Preferred Skills and Education

• Bachelor Degree and 8+ years relevant experience required to include at least:

• 4 years Cost Type / Cost-Plus Contract experience

• 4 years Firm Fixed Price Contract experience

• At least 5 years of Prime Contract experience

• Certification as CFCM or CPCM highly desirable

• Master's Degree/MBA/JD
