Pipfitter Level 2

Job Description

The Pipe Shop apprentice level 2 performs a variety of skilled mechanical duties involving general fitting piping systems on vessels, burning/brazing, testing and sketching piping systems. The apprentice level 2 operates equipment for assembly and installation; performs preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery; records work performed and follows specified safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Education

>>Must be a US Citizen or Naturalized Citizen

>Must have a High School diploma or equivalent

>Must be able to obtain and retain access to Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam

>Knowledge with maintenance requirements of departments equipment and skilled in performing such.

> Must have knowledge of pipe fitting practices and requirements.

> Able to certify in brazing

> Able to properly perform disc grinding in:
a. Preparation of surfaces
b. Cleaning of surfaces

> Able to interpret blueprints, work specifications, and field drawings.

> Able to assist with pipe and tube bending operations & equipment.

> Ability to communicate.

> Must have Valid Driver's license

Preferred Skills and Education

> Knowledgeable with Navy Standard Items that pertain to the trade.
