Payroll Analyst/QC

Job Description

This position reports to the Finance Shared Services Director, Payroll/Time Collections. The Payroll Business/QC Analyst is a key member of the Payroll team and is primarily responsible for providing functional leadership in the area of payroll back office transformation aligning processes to meet business objectives. This position will also serve as SME and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all Payroll processes by reviewing procedures, trends, analyzing problems, recommending solutions as well as assisting in the implementation of new processes.

The role is responsible for supporting complex payroll/time collection projects (e.g. integrations, reorganizations) and supporting technical upgrades as required.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills to express themselves clearly in written and verbal formats.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Progressive experience in payroll/Time collections

Strong experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Strong process and system skills

Ability to articulate complex subject matter effectively

Analytical though needed to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations, without supervision

Excellent interpersonal, diplomacy, verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational and follow-through skills

Preferred Skills and Education
Demonstrated experience performing accounting services as a Defense/Government Contractor in a regulated and compliant organization, specifically DCAA, is strongly preferred

More than 8 years professional experience preferred

Certified Payroll Professional strongly preferred

Experience with Payroll/HCM systems

Experience in a Shared services environment

Previous Experience executing process improvements within an organization
