Operations Program Manager

Job Description

Operations Program Manager within the Small Form Factor Payload Solutions Product Line and will report to the Product Line Operations Director.

Responsibilities include the following:

Responsible for all operations aspects of the program area in accordance with BAE Systems operations and program management policies. This includes accountability for operations program management, manufacturing strategy and execution, supply chain management, cost and schedule management, identification of risk and risk management, resource management, program planning and compliance to management review requirements. Work closely with program area program management to modify and develop systems, metrics and methodology to manage, collect and analyze performance metrics that will drive execution excellence.

Lead the program area operations management staff including identifying and employing best practices, defining training plans and providing mentoring. Evaluate assigned personnel on clear and well defined objectives in a fair and consistent manner.

Assessing program health and provide leadership guidance to the team to ensure successful execution of program area and customer satisfaction, including engaging with the customer to provide feedback on program progress and concerns. Monitor performance to established contract schedules. Encourage continuous improvement and highest quality product, process and documentation.

Communicate plans and status to senior management of Business Area, Operations , Engineering, Quality Assurance and Finance. Create strategy, roadmaps and systems to support assigned program area.

Typical Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 15 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
Required education: Bachelor Degree

Typical Related Experience: 15+ years or more experience in managing operations personnel. (In addition to the items listed above, the Essential Functions are: 1. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth in job description section above. 2. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; 3. Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers; 4. Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents; 5. Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations; 6. Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule;

Preferred Skills and Education

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or a Technical discipline
• Experience managing and successfully executing programs for the Defense markets.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Eligible for US Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (active clearance strongly preferred)
