Network Engineer

This position will be part of a team responsible for supporting an exciting, mission critical networking and data science environment to understand and analyze a wide variety of information. This position also has daily interaction with our customer, and as such requires customer focus. Effective communication skills, flexibility, a strong teamwork approach. Duties include; integrating new technologies into local and wide area networks. Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex networking problems. Support the network hardware environment. Maintain existing network connectivity documentation and diagrams. Design network connectivity solutions Create and maintain Visio network diagrams and provide recommendations to enhance and improve the network and performance.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Qualifications:

  • Must have a current/active clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or engineering
  • Certifications (or equivalent) for Information System Security Representative (ISSR) and DCID 6/3
  • 10 years’ experience in data network planning, engineering and design
  • 3 years’ experience the areas of network and computer software/hardware, which includes routers, multiplexes, hubs, bridges & gateways.
  • Knowledge of today’s networking concepts and protocols
  • Strong knowledge of DNS concepts and configuration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux WAN and LAN networking for design, implementation, troubleshooting, hardware configuration, and performance tuning
  • Experience with TCPDump packet analysis
  • Experience with Firewall and Network Security concepts Preferred Skills and Education Skills:
