Navy Radars Technician
BAE Systems is seeking Navy Radars Technicians with experience in performing comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance for the AN/SPS-48G and AN/SPQ-9B radar systems to be part of our dynamic team located at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC), in Wallops Island, VA. The SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future.
The selected candidate will:
Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on the following systems in order to sustain the equipment in accordance with Combat Systems specifications
Provide system/equipment configuration and operational support for all variants of the AN/SPS-48G and AN/SPQ-9B radar systems in support of Surface Combat System Center's test requirements
Schedule planned maintenance actions utilizing SKED program in accordance with the Navy's Maintenance Material Management (3M) system and also be responsible for documenting all maintenance actions, including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program
This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Required Skills and Education
Minimum education and years of service required: High School/GED and more than 3 years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment. PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not able to provide appropriate PQS 301 qualification transcripts on or before date of hire, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within 3 months from hire date.
Successful candidate must be willing and able to perform in a variety of 40 hour work-week configurations, including:
1. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 1st Shift
2. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 2nd Shift
3. Variable 4 x 10 shifts that may include weekends (4 days on/3 days off) and may be 1st or 2nd shift
4. Sliding (5 x 8) work weeks (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday) and may be 1st or 2nd shift
**PLEASE NOTE - These work week configurations may be scheduled on a rotational basis
Security clearance requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a final DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret security clearance is granted.

Certified ETA Fiber Optic Installer
Performing maintenance of the following equipment:
IFF (AN/UPX-36, AN/UPX-29)
Navigation (Blk 4 NAVSSI
NSMMS NATO SEA Sparrow
Close In Weapon System
Experience with network devices and understanding of Operating Systems, preferably RedHat or UNIX.
