Job Description

This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

BAE Systems is seeking Electronics Technicians with experience in performing comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance for HF, UHF, VHF, Satellite Communication and Tactical Data Link equipment. Candidate will perform corrective and preventative maintenance in order to sustain the equipment in accordance with Combat Systems specifications. Candidate will also perform system/equipment configuration and operational support for HF, UHF, VHF, Satellite Communication and Tactical Data Link equipment in support of Surface Combat System Center's test requirements. Candidate will schedule planned maintenance actions utilizing SKED program in accordance with the Navy's Maintenance Material Management (3M) system and also be responsible for documenting all maintenance actions, including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program.

Required Skills and Education

Typical education and years of related/relevant work experience: High School/GED and at least 3 years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on Navy Communication equipment. PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within 3 months of employment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim security clearance is granted.

Preferred Skills and Education

Highly desired, but not required:
Active DoD Secret Security clearance
ETA Fiber Optic Installer certification
Micro-Miniature (2M) certification
Experience with network devices and understanding of Operating Systems preferably RedHat or UNIX
Experience in performing maintenance for the following equipment: AN/SPS-67, AN/SPS-73, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems, Navigation equipment to include all Block 4 variants, gyro systems WSN-7 all variants
