Navy Combat System Technician

Job Description

This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

BAE Systems is seeking Naval Combat Systems Electronics Technicians with experience in performing comprehensive component and system level maintenance for shipboard Weapon Systems. Candidate will perform corrective and preventative maintenance in order to sustain the equipment in accordance with Combat Systems specifications. Candidate will also provide system/equipment configuration and operational support for all deployed baseline variants to include; AEIGS baselines 5.3, 6.1/6.3, 7.2A/7.2B, 8.0, 9A, 9C/D/E and BMD modifications, Ship Self Defense System baselines MK 2 Mod 1, Mod 2, Mod 3, Mod 5 and Mod 6 in support of Surface Combat System Center's test requirements. Candidate will schedule planned maintenance actions utilizing the SKED program in accordance with the Navy's Maintenance Material Management (3M) system and also be responsible for documenting all maintenance actions, including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program.

Required Skills and Education

Minimum education and years of service required: High School/GED and at least 3 years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment. PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within 3 months of employment.

Security clearance requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a final DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim clearance is granted.

AEGIS Display, Computer and Networks
AEGIS Combat System elements
AN/SPY-1A, 1B/D and D (V)
Gun Fire Control System
Close In Weapons System
HF/UHF/VHF, SATCOM, LINKS and TADIL equipment
AN/SLQ-32 (V) 2, (V) 3, (V) 4 or SEWIP (V) 6
Navigation systems, NAVSSI Block 4
Identification Friend or Foe, AN/UPX-29
2 D radar systems, AN/SPS-49 or AN/SPS-67
3 D radar systems, AN/SPS-48E/G, AN/SPQ-9B
Experience trouble shooting and repairing Low Level Serial and Parallel interface cables
Experience with Network devices and an understanding of Operating Systems, preferably RedHat or UNIX
