Naval Weapons Systems Technician

Job Description

Provides technical assistance regarding design, assembly, production, integration, test, safety, reliability, maintenance, performance certification, and problem solving to Production personnel .

• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
•Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
•Good planning, time management, organization and mentoring skills.
•Sound interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with Company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
•Ability to use computers to prepare appropriate reports and documents.
•Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
•Ability to develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external customers and subcontractors. •High levels of analytical ability to identify, define, interpret, and solve engineering, manufacturing, test, and quality problems of systems.
•A high level of communication skills to facilitate the identification and resolution of performance problems, provide work direction. Persuasive skills in presentation of technical results and interfacing with internal and external customers and suppliers to solve problems.
•Substantial innovation to develop creative technical solutions to complex engineering, manufacturing, safety, environmental and test problems.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Must be technically proficient with naval weapons systems
Must be able to trouble shoot complex systems, servo systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical/electronic systems.

Preferred Skills and Education

Experience with the Mk41, Mk45 or Mk160 is preferred
Former U.S. Navy Fire Controlman, Gunners Mate, or Electronics Technician
Experience with relevant applications in a BAE Systems defense environment is preferred
