Mgr I- Eng
Serves as the Department Manager for the Engineers, Test Analysts and WAF Coordinators. Participates in the hiring process and is responsible for developing, counseling, goal setting and evaluating the performance of subordinates. Supports and acts as a liaison with the trades and Government customer to ensure technical support is provided to aid the project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.
Leader and Initiator in Safety. Ensures team compliance with all company & OSHA regulated safety requirements/standards; and environmental and ethical requirements.
Provide direction and guidance to department staff. Maintains performance standards.
Review plans, specifications and drawings received from owners or naval architect for producibility of the design in accordance with the company's best management/construction processes within fiscal constraints or develop alternatives.
Direct liaison with Production, Purchasing, Planning, Program Management, Facilities and Estimating to resolve all issues.
Collaborate with production management in understanding effect of the work being completed and takes proactive approach to find solutions. Implement new technology, methods, or design changes to improve quality, safety and reduce total labor effort.
Interact with groups and agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory, quality assurance, quality control, safety, environmental and health regulations in all work related shipbuilding and steel fabrication activities.
Ensure all test requirements are incorporated in Consolidated Test Plan and supporting documentation is accurately completed.
Must be able to follow all Company policies and procedures.
