BAE Systems Electronic Systems, (ES) Precision Guided Munitions Product Line located in Nashua NH is looking for a mechanical engineer with a strong materials engineering background to join their Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Seeker team.

This is a dynamic position that will provide an exciting opportunity to join a team of engineers engaged on the design, development, and test of the THAAD Seeker.

In this position you will apply your mechanical and materials engineering skills/knowledge to the development of the mechanical hardware on the THAAD Seeker. Working on the THAAD Seeker, you will acquire product knowledge and advance your technical skills. You will interact and learn from our senior mechanical, materials, and component engineers. This position will also have you working alongside our operations team supporting production.

This engineering role is comprehensive and will provide you the exposure to all phases of the product lifecycle including concept creation, requirements definition, detailed design implementation, analysis, integration and test, and transition to production. You will have the opportunity to interact with the THAAD Seeker Program Management team and our customers.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years work experience
  • Solid fundamentals of mechanical engineering principles and standards
  • Understanding of mechanical manufacturing and test methodologies
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and perform tolerance assessments
  • 3D CAD Modeling
  • Structural and Thermal modeling experience
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter and problem solver with proven experience working with teams
  • US Citizen
  • DOD Security Clearance- Secret
Preferred Skills and Education
  • Ansys, Finite element modeling skills - thermal and structural, transient shock.
  • 6-Sigma Trained
  • Proficient in ProE /Creo
  • BS or MS in Materials Engineering
  • Prior industry experience
