Materials Planning Intern - (Summer 2019)

Job Description
This position is for a full time Summer Planning Intern located in Louisville, KY.

This intern is responsible for assisting the Planning team in the planning process. Under the guidance of the Production Control Manager, the Material Planning Intern will work closely with the Planning Team to assist in the logistical planning and supply chain processes for the Louisville site. Become familiar with material and data flow within the production environment. Gain an understanding of the data structure and functionality of production modules within Baan. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). In addition, will also have the opportunity to work side-by-side with respected engineers/supply chain/production/etc.

Required Skills and Education

Selected candidate must be enrolled in an accredited College or University.
--Must have basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant technical field of specialization.
--Basic computer proficiency.
--Ability to work under direct supervision and follow standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
--Ability to communicate effectively by phone, email, in writing, and in person.
--Ability to work effectively with others.
--Ability to pay attention to details.

Preferred Skills and Education

Completion of at least six semesters toward a Bachelor's degree in Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field. Minimum GPA of a 2.5 required.

Preferred GPA of a 3.0 or higher

Coursework related to production planning, supply chain, or similar disciplines.

Previous work-related experience in materials / planning
