Material Handler 1

Job Description
Driving company supplied van, this position requires 50% of your time to pick up and deliver material from our suppliers or BAE facility in New Hampshire and/or Massachusetts. Ensuring material arrives timely and safely. The other 50% of your time will be to prepare and verify assembly kits to meet pre-scheduled release dates using pick list. Selects stock using first in-first out system, vendor date code (when required) and quantity issued. Interfaces with materials and production personnel to resolve materials shortages. Responds to requests for materials needed for engineering or production programs, works from computerized reports. Ensures that materials are properly packaged or repackaged per required special handling specifications, when necessary, in electrostatic bags or as otherwise specified. Labels and stocks in specified bins or fills back-order requirements, both for the assembly floor or kits in process. Delivers completed assembly kits or point of use (POU) material to designated areas and if required, releases to work-in-process (WIP) Performs cycle count audits and physical inventories. Audits inventory records for accuracy on a regular basis. Checks actual stock against amounts recorded. Ensures that all required materials are properly identified with safety information and handling labels in conformance with Company and OSHA guidelines. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. Replenishes Point of Use locations as requested.

Required Skills and Education

Requires a High School education and a minimum of 2 years of related experience. May be required to hold government clearance. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Basic understanding of PC applications including Oracle and iStar. As necessary, ability to work with small complex parts within a clean room environment and use special handling tools (vacuum release stations, vacuum pick-up tools, microscopes, etc.).
