Manufacturing Operations Estimator
Provide labor estimates and coordinate material and other functional area estimates for the Operations function. Prepare estimates based on request for proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customers and corresponding memorandum of cost (MC) documents. Analyze specifications, including concepts, bills of material, and calculate production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data. Collect cost data from cost system, understand standard WBS, understand relationship of data and product, and maintain knowledge of industry and company methods and processes. Successfully generate auditable cost effective, timely Proposals including all required reports and documents to permanent files.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Must be able to articulate and recommend a proposed strategy and assure that all risks and opportunities are balanced appropriately.
Prepare time phased estimate spreadsheets and cost reports, and present findings to management, contracts and finance personnel, customer representatives, and government representatives.
Requires excellent interpersonal skills and borderless one team attitude.
Must be capable of performing in high energy, fast paced environment with rapidly changing requirements.
Requires strong capability with Microsoft Office Tools.
Knowledge of Manufacturing Operations processes and procedures
Knowledge of Bill of Material (BOM) structures
Familiarity with electronics / electromechanical assembly manufacturing and associated disciplines.
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
Preferred Skills and Education
BS Technical discipline with 10+ years associated experience
Technical background in electronics / electromechanical assembly manufacturing and associated disciplines.
Proven project leadership / people management skills
Proven Negotiation Skills
Oracle ERP and support data systems experience
Knowledge of ProPricer
Knowledge and use of Learning Curves
Strong familiarity with FAR Cost or Pricing Data requirements
