Job Description

This position is a cornerstone opportunity in one of our Microelectronics factories at the Spitbrook Road campus to manufacture high volume microwave devices for airborne military programs. This position will focus on optimizing process assembly equipment in the back end of one of a Family of Microelectronics assembly and test factories. Principle focus will be on operating, programming, debugging and optimizing the hermetic seal and hermetic seal testing equipment for one of these factories. A new Lytron laser welding system with full vacuum bake-out capability has be installed in one factory with two other LItron lasers located in two adjacent factories at the same Spitbrook Road Campus. This position joins a group of 4 process engineers who own the laser weld process using this equipment. All the ancillary leak testing equipment, is also supported by this position.

This position will have full process responsibility for all product moving through the hermetic seal area of one of these state-of-the-art Microwave manufacturing factories. As a principle position, an element of leadership is also desired. Previous process experience, preferably of 4-6 years in a Microelectronics environment with experience in hermetic seal is highly desirable.
Monitors daily production activities and recommends product and process improvements to enhance the efficiency of operations and develops manufacturing routings, work instructions and flow charts, required to support the product build cycle.

Defines and specifies the requirement for assembly tooling, fixtures and equipment to support manufacturing operations; participates in Material Review Board (MRB) and dispositions discrepant material. Performs Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB) for the disposition of discrepant material and determination of root cause/corrective action.

Provides technical assistance in the transitioning of designs to the manufacturing phase for product and process capability; monitors designs for compliance to design rules, standards and procedures in order to provide consistency in designs and manufacturing process

Provides Process Engineering support for hermetic seal area in a Microelectronics Factory which builds microwave, military products. Candidate will ideally have experience with resistance welding, Laser welding, and hermetic testing including fine and gross leak testing.

Plans and monitors special evaluations on assemblies, components special processes, etc. due to design changes and/or problems developed during the manufacturing cycle; reviews, analyzes, and obtains corrective action on all customer problems.

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Bachelor's of Science degree in an engineering or technical field.
Applicable experience in a Microelectronics factory will be considering in lieu of technical degree.
