Logistics Support Specialist

Job Description

Performs logistics management support in a full range of property accountability functions IAW AR 710-2, Supply Policies Below the National Level, and AR 735-5, Policies and Procedures for Property Accountability. This support includes planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support specified missions. Schedules and monitors funding milestones for appropriateness and timeliness. Monitors organizational compliance with logistical regulations including creation of hand receipts, inventories, and other transactions using Property Book Unit Supply Enhanced (PBUSE) system and the logistics databases as well as updating the configuration management database for all hardware and software configuration items.

Collaborates and plans with appropriate personnel to coordinate and/or execute operations. Responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating the total cradle-to-grave life cycle logistics support for assigned systems, integrating separate functions of supply, maintenance, procurement and quality assurance into logistics activities.

Prepares and submits acquisition packets and Unfinanced Requirements (UFRs) to the Critical Requirements Board (CRVB) schedule. Assist the Government in performing property accountability functions IAW Army Regulations. Identifies such cost-effective purchase practices as enterprise agreements, volume purchasing, and leasing. Prepares, processes and submits shipping document IAW TTPs and SOPs. Assists the Government in correcting findings identified during the semi-annual Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP) inspection.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

US Army property management documents and processes

Preferred Skills and Education

Knowledge of NETCOM and US Army Logistical Support processes and procedures including inventory and accountability procedures.
