Job Description

The Sr. Principal Engineer/Manager II - Lean Six Sigma Certified Master Black Belt is responsible to support the effective execution of the Lean Six Sigma Program across BAE Systems, Information and Electronic Systems Integration, Inc.
Specific duties generally include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and manage significant process improvement projects in the business.
  • Mentor and Coach Black Belts and Green Belts.
  • Promote use of Six Sigma methodology and tools (DMAIC, Lean, Kaizen, Supplier, and Design for Six Sigma).
  • Provide project support & process documentation.
  • Drive and support Black Belts and Green Belts in certification process.
  • Facilitate / Support other business initiatives as needed.
  • Conduct classroom instruction for Green Belts, Black Belts, and other courses as well as Executive/Project Sponsor Workshop, Project Identification and Selection Workshops.
  • Work in coordination with leadership to analyze, monitor and assess critical activities affecting policy, organizational guidance, and developmental processes.
  • Develop recommendations to support mission goals, requirements and sustainment of improvements.
  • Assist with data analysis, conclusions and presentations related to project completion and findings.
  • Develop of instructional training material.

While reporting to the Senior Director of Quality and Business Excellence, the candidate will work closely with all levels of the organization across all Functions and Businesses to drive Business Excellence across the enterprise, as well as to the vendor and supplier base.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

10 year active experience in the role of a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt- providing training, belt support, and leading broad scope projects, utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools.
10 years of design engineering experience.
20 years of work experience
Education: BS in Engineering or Technical Field, MS in engineering or a technical field preferred.

Preferred Skills and Education

Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from a nationally recognized organization.
Extensive cross-industries experience such as Automotive, Commercial, Industrial, Defense and/or Medical.
Hands-on RF Microwave manufacturing experience in both Commercial and Defense products.
Education: BS in Engineering or Technical Field, MS in engineering or a technical field preferred.
