Jr. Software Engineer - Server-Side Developer

GXP is seeking a motivated candidate to join its software engineering team as a full time software engineer. In this exciting opportunity, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and installing software solutions as part of a small, but growing, team.

General daily responsibilities include:

  • Implementing new features to our web-based and server-based products
  • Investigating new technologies and open-source software for inclusion into our products
  • Development in Java or JavaScript
  • Design of new enhancements
  • Code reviews and unit testing

Developers are expected to prototype/design to the goals of functionality and operational utility while considering ease of component re-use, connectivity, long term architecture, and schedule commitments. The position requires the ability to perform critical analysis, work well in teams, and self-manage. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, and two years of actual work experience

  • Experience with Java or a similar language, such as C#
  • Ability to quickly learn and integrate with emerging technologies
  • Good communication and teamwork skills; a team player with a proactive attitude
  • Ability to identify, trouble shoot and debug software discrepancies
  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED. Candidate will be subjected to a government security investigation and will need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Preferred Skills and Education – Experience with JavaScript, C++, or SQL
  • Familiarity with Data storage systems such as RDBMS, Document Stores(Solr, ElasticSearch), or RDF Stores
  • Coursework, certifications or other experience in any computer security or software security topic
  • Familiarity with Cloud computing systems, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform or MS Azure
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration technologies, such as OSGi, Apache Karaf, Apache Camel
