Java Developer

BAE is looking for a Java Developer to build and code applications and/or modules using languages such as C++, visual basic, JavaScript, Tomcat, J2EE, and web services. The location is York, PA.

Knowledge of codebase management is desired: the rigorous discipline of maintaining a development, test and production environment for application development. Candidate will be expected to provide patches and upgrades to existing systems. Other expectations include the ability to prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Experience as a Java, JavaScript and J2EE technical designer and developer

Experience with software development using CSS, and Web Services

Experience with front-end development using JSF implementations, including Oracle Application Development

Framework or similar frameworks

Experience with database queries, SQL, and PL/SQL

Experience with developing applications using third-party APIs and commercial-off-the-shelf platforms.

Demonstrated knowledge of object-oriented software development practices using C++

Good interpersonal communication (verbal and written)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Understanding of Software Design, Development, and Testing Principles

Working knowledge of Tomcat

Other required skills:

Prepare time estimates and justifications for assigned tasks and provide recommendations to technical lead and project manager. Create appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, program development, operating instructions and technical documentation. As directed, work with business and project management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements

Develop and execute test plans, scripts and cases to validate new or modified programs.

Ensure the application or system is designed per established security requirements and standards

Prepare and execute deployment plans for final cutover from testing to go-live

Prepare and execute data-migration plans from legacy to new applications

Manage configuration of code and related artifacts via enterprise Configuration Management tools

Provide operations and maintenance support for business applications and work in a formal release/change management structure

Provide support in a 24/7 environment

Preferred Skills and Education · Experience with Linux/Unix Operating System via command line

  • Experience with Tomcat and Unix/Linus server capability
  • Experience with HTML5 and CSS3, J2EE (java)
  • Experience with Oracle databases including SQL and PL/SQL
  • Experience with Oracle Weblogic
