BAE Systems is looking for Principal Test Engineers to join the Integrated Test Engineering (ITE) organization.
ITE is a rapidly growing discipline within the Engineering organization with the mission to reliably deliver customer-focused, affordable test solutions, which are integrated across all levels of production test. •As an ITE Principal RF Engineer you will use your expertise to participate in and lead small teams to provide production test solutions needed for our Electronic Warfare (EW) products. These test solutions include Test Stands, Interface Test Adapters (ITAs) and Software for In-Process (IP), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) ranging from component to systems level analog, digital and RF products. This fast-paced environment needs motivated engineers with a desire to solve challenging problems.
•ITE Principal RF Test Engineers are responsible for developing and maintaining the test solution's baseline, integrating hardware and software for the test solution, and verifying the test solution's readiness to be released for use in our factories. These responsibilities are carried out either as an individual contributor on small projects, or by leading small multi-disciplined engineering teams on larger programs. Additional responsibilities may include instrument driver development, command/control and measurement of ancillary support equipment such as thermal chambers, product chillers, and other environmental conditioning equipment.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
•High Level Competency with design and performance testing of RF circuits/assemblies, Digital, Optical, or Analog circuitry
•Must have knowledge of the different components of an EW Systems including its functional Interfaces, e.g., Antennas, LNAs, Receivers, Transmitters, etc
•Must have experience Testing of RF and Microwave Components and Modules
•Knowledge of using and programming typical RF instrumentation like Spectrum and Network Analyzers, Power Meters, RF Signal Generators, etc
•Must be familiar with the Keysight Network Analyzer model N5242B or equivalent and the use of the available software applications like Noise Figure, Gain Compression, Intermodulation Distortion, Time Domain, etc
•Must be familiar with Design for Testability for any potential modifications to the Test Stand or UUT, to correct and update control & support, Self-Test, and TPS software as require
• Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Skills and Education
High level competency with NI software development tools: LabWindows / CVI and TestStand
•Management skills for setting up and executing test development programs
•Manage budget, schedule and performance of the team's work products
•Familiarity with earned-value program tracking and reporting
•Experience in assessing requirements, generating test plans, designing solutions needed for Thermal Shock/ESS Test in accordance to MIL-STD-810 & MIL-STD- 833 is a plus
