IT Security Spec II
This position is part of the BAE Systems team at Port Hueneme. This work is for 6 months with the possibility to extend if follow-on contract is awarded. This position will be performed in the BAE Systems Silverdale WA office.
BAE Systems seeks a IT Security Specialist to assist with Information Assurance and system configuration management support .

Perform day-to-day system administration duties, Cyber Security duties and assist with long-term operational planning for a multi- server system. Investigate and troubleshoot server system issues in additional to regular hardware and software maintenance for all environments in the client’s network; and identify areas for improvement through automation and process innovations. Responsibilities will include applying patches, configuring, remediating, documenting, and maintaining servers for production, lab and remote locations.
Security Test Results Processing:
Assess the cybersecurity posture of systems, including standalone test sets and larger systems. Implement, monitor, and enforces DoD information system IA policies and procedures as defined by DIACAP security and accreditation policies. Receive multiple files that contain DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) test results, in the form of STIG Checklist files and reports from the DoD approved ACAS Vulnerability Scanning tool, and consolidate the results into a single MS Excel file in a pre-defined format (Risk Assessment Report) file. Implement STIG and SRG quarterly or as required. Perform weekly Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)/Nessus security scans, prioritize and address security vulnerabilities. Update Plan of Action and Milestone (POAM) for reporting to the Information Assurance Officer. Implement all Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA), Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletin (IAVB), and Technical Advisory (TA) in the context of a US Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM). Responsibilities will include applying patches, configuring, remediating, documenting, and maintaining servers for production, lab and remote locations. Because such testing will require the use of privileged accounts, the individual must have an active/final DoD security clearance , be a member of the Cybersecurity workforce, and complete a privileged user agreement.
eMASS Accreditation Package:
Assist with accreditation documents, and perform entry of test results and Plan of Action and Milestones entries in the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), a web based application hosted by DISA. The selected individual will need to already have or obtain an eMASS account, which requires the individual to be a member of the Cybersecurity workforce, and complete the basic online eMASS training course.
The selected individual must be a motivated team player with excellent written and oral communication skills. All candidates should have a proven track record of being able to plan, prioritize, and deliver assigned projects on time.
