IT Security Engineer

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Senior IT Security Engineer to support a Cyber Operations Center for the DoD. The selected candidate will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in network security tools to accomplish feature deployment, security policy implementation, multi-factor authentication, access control enforcement, activity monitoring, configuration tuning, and system administration. As part of the Security and Systems Engineering team, all members have the opportunity to grow technically and professionally in a strong and growing technical environment with support from experienced professionals. This position is located on Naval Station Norfolk.

Typical duties and responsibilities:
Interfaces with other technical and non-technical individuals from within the company, other contractors, and Government customers.
Provides customer support for end users and help desk.
Tests, configures, optimizes, and installs throughout the enterprise.
Configuring and supporting multifactor authentication on Linux and network assets.
Implementing, configuring and monitoring of Network Access Control (NAC).
Defines and creates operational and cybersecurity polices in accordance with the customer's business requirements.
Project management of cybersecurity solutions to meet customer's business goals, including participating in project meetings and conference calls and providing ongoing status reports that summarize outstanding issues and project plans.
Applies Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to operating systems and applications.
Provides outputs needed to support RMF such as technical mitigation documents
Ensure system compliance with applicable legislative and executive requirements, policies and guidelines on Information System Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for CNIC information technology (IT) assets;
Mitigating and/or remediating vulnerabilities or misconfigurations, and document findings and severity levels of non-compliance in formalized reporting, written and oral briefs, etc.

This position is located in Chesapeake, VA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Chesapeake, VA or surrounding areas.

Typical Education & Experience
High School and at least 10 years of IT system security experience OR Associate degree and at least 8 years of IT system security experience OR Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of IT system security experience

Required Skills and Education
High School and at least 10 years of IT system security experience OR Associate degree and at least 8 years of IT system security experience OR Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of IT system security experience

CISSP or CASP certification (or the ability to acquire certification within 6 months)

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Skills and Education
Active security clearance
