In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems, you'll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions. The C4ISR Systems line of business within the Electronic Systems (ES) Sector of BAE Systems is looking for self-motivated and experienced Senior Software developers. As an Integration Software Engineer, you should have full software lifecycle development experience and be an expert developer with industry experience. You can expect to continuously strengthen your technical skills as work on cross-functional teams under the guidance of Principal Level Engineering. The organization focuses on career development of our software engineers and advancement of the craft of software engineering. You will have opportunities to develop strong and increasingly complex software skills and stay current in the software discipline. Assigned tasks will be technically challenging, achievable, time-boxed, and under the direction of technical leadership. Duties will include analyzing, developing, debugging, testing, configuring, and deploying software solutions in an agile continuous development environment. Applying state-of-the-art software development tools and techniques, working alongside other highly motivated engineers. The Java programming language is the norm for the majority of ES projects. However, many other technologies are typically used as well.

Required Skills and Education

  • Must be a US Citizen and hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance upon hire date

  • Responsibilities
    • Document software problems and verify fixes
    • Troubleshoot and modify test tools and test scripts
    • Participate in formal software inspection process, customer meetings, and user events
    • Generate software test data, perform test data analysis, and develop test documentation
    • Work with the lead Software Engineer and a team of developers to establish and develop test methods and techniques
    • Perform integration testing, regression testing, and formal qualification testing in an agile SW development environment
    • Design, develop, and maintain software test plans, software test cases, software test procedures, and automated software tests in compliance with program functional, technical, and performance requirements
  • Experience:
    • Requirements capture, design, development, and integration of complex software systems
    • Software development using Java, Java EE, Web Services, SOA in a UNIX / Linux / Windows based environment
    • Integrating 3rd party software components
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud development and technologies
    • SAFe Agile and Scrum methodology
    • Open source software development
    • Automated software development and testing
    • Using human centered design methods to build and test form-driven, web-based applications. Human-centered design practices include: User experience design, Front end development, Visual design and Content design
    • Open-source login/authentication services
    • Build systems such as Make, Ant, Maven and Gradle
    • Version control systems such as Subversion and GIT
  • Domain knowledge with:
    • Precise imagery (CIB®, Orthorectified images/Mosaics, DPPDB, etc.,)
    • Digital Elevation and Accuracy assessment (DTED, DEM, HRTE, etc.,)
    • OGC standards

Preferred Skills and Education
  • Possesses at least one of the Agile Development Certifications
    • Certified Scrum Master
    • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
    • Certified Scrum Professional
  • Experience with:
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud development and technologies
    • Atlassian Software tools (e.g. Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
    • Cloud Computing, C#, .Net Framework, Perl, HTML/CSS
    • Web-based graphical user interfaces (GUI) and applications
    • Creating and modifying engineering documentation
Preparing and presenting technical material to Customer base and/or senior management
