Integrated Combat System Engineer (E3, M&S, HSI)

The selected candidate will conduct integration assessments for the locating of weapon systems, sensors, communication systems and other topside elements within the ship’s topside arrangement. Provide technical assistance in the design and development of 3-D CAD ship models and ship drawings including: Topside Antenna Arrangement Drawings, Selected Record Drawings, Antenna Photo Booklets and Antenna Configuration Booklets. Conduct system-to-system Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) analysis required to assist E3 and Spectrum Certification of all installed systems. Assist in the development of a Large Deck ship class E3 Control Plan/RFSpectrum Management Plan.

Conduct ICS related modeling and simulation analysis throughout the contract stages. Develop an analysis plan to optimize the overall ship class ICS performance as a central Command and Control asset in the DoD architecture (e.g., FORCEnet, Global Information Grid, Net Ready, etc.). Identify ICS-related simulations for use in demonstrating Operational Requirements Document (ORD) performance requirements.

Conduct Human Systems Integration (HSI) efforts to integrate the warfighter into the Command Center (CC) design and create flexible CCs. Provide a warfare design that focuses on the cognitive processes and decision-making tasks executed by the commander, the battle force or amphibious force to complete missions effectively. Focus the system on the warfighters’ requirements and then determine the technology necessary to implement this vision. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience (six additional years of experience in lieu of a degree)

At least 3 years of experience in Naval ship combat system engineering through all phases of the acquisition life cycle

Experience in one or more of the following: Topside Design, E3, 3-D CAD, modeling and simulation, CC design, HSI

Preferred Skills and Education Experience in Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) engineering and integration

Experience and knowledge of Integrated Product Team (IPT) operations
