Information Assurance Subject Matter Expert

Job Description
BAE Systems is building a team of Information Assurance professionals to provide accreditation and engineering expertise to assure program DoD requirements are developed and sustained at multiple sites. The teams will lead and provide expertise for full life cycle support to IA assessment and authorization, conduct problem resolution for systems, system selloff, and accreditation efforts for the installation, test, and debugging, of Air Force Weapon Systems. These teams will prepare comprehensive written reports and presentations based on research, collection, and analysis of information assurance data.

These teams of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will also be responsible for the following duties:
•Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy
•Document and monitor information assurance programs and computer network systems for compliance of continuity, operations security, forensics, regulatory compliance, insider threat detection and mitigation, physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management)
•Assess and mitigate system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle
•Validate system security requirements definition and analysis
•Establish system security designs
•Provide input and guidance of security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures to accomplish network security; verifies security requirements; performs system certification and accreditation planning, testing, and liaison activities
•Work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment while assuring key milestone objectives are satisfied with a focus within cost budget constraints
•Maintain awareness of full program goals and efforts to assure opportunities for shared resources and technical overlap is properly managed and utilized
•Will serve as the Customer point of contact and provide technical presentations as needed
•Be well organized, thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment, leverage best practices, and innovate through any problem with a can-do attitude
•Able to handle multiple priorities and interruptions with minimal impact on productivity
•Demonstrate a high level of independent judgment and initiative; self-starter
•Other duties as assigned

Candidates filling these positions should have experience in one or more of the following Air Force Weapon Systems: Air Operations Center (AOC), Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS), National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Cyber Command and Control Mission System (C3MS), and Department of Defense (DoD) Intelligence System (DODIIS).

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering discipline and 8 years of experience
  • Understands the Air Force Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology and able to successfully implement an information technology process which shall effectively protect the element's information assets and its ability to perform its mission
  • DoD 8570 compliant with a minimum of CompTIA Security + certification
  • Active TS clearance
Preferred Skills and Education
  • Certified at Level III IAM or level IASAE I-III with CISSP, CISM or GSLC credential
  • Ability to break down technical concepts into business terms
  • SAFe Agilist certification
