Info Sys Admin II

This is an opportunity, to fill a position on a current contract. Location is Groton, CT, however, periodic travel may be required to Norfolk, VA, Kings Bay, GA, Bangor, WA, San Diego, CA, Pearl Harbor, HI and Guam. Your exciting assignment will involve operating, maintaining and training submarine personnel on several large integrated systems incorporating RHEL, CentOS, Solaris, HPUX, and MS Windows Servers. Supplementary technologies and responsibilities include VMware, VNC, CISCO IOS, Bourne Shell Scripting, LDAP, OSSEC, and Radius. Candidates with current DoD High-Level Clearance and Certifications in Cisco CCNA Level 1, Windows XP/NT, MS Windows Pro, Equipment A+, Network +, and RHCE are highly desirable. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Current DoD High Level Clearance or have held clearance within past 12 months

High School Diploma or GED

Flexible work schedule with ability to work overtime and multiple or rotating shifts as needed

Minimum 4 years IT systems operation experience in a Unix-Linux environment including routinely verifying system readiness

Minimum 4 years experience installing networked computers and peripheral hardware components

Experience unpacking and inventorying computers and peripheral hardware components and associated technical documentation

Minimum 4 years experience assisting in corrective and preventative maintenance tasks (including system power-up, fault recovery, and systems shutdown

Experience reporting and tracking system SW/HW faults and corrective actions taken

Ability to interpret engineering/installation schematics, drawings, technical manuals

Strong verbal and written communication skills Preferred Skills and Education Certifications in IAT I or IAT II, Cisco CCNA Level 1, Windows XP/NT, Microsoft Windows Professional, Equipment A+, and Network +, and RHCE;

Prior Navy Fire Control or Sonar System operations/maintenance experience;

Systems administration experience in a Unix-Linux environment;

Familiarity with Cisco switches;

Experience in Setup, operating, maintaining kernel based virtual machines (KVM) using Linux, Windows NT and OS2;

Training experience with military personnel;

Familiarity with US Navy SMMTT and SSN/SSBN Submarine systems or trainers for Combat Control, VMS, Weapons launching systems, ESM and Sonar;

Familiarity with SECVAVINST 5239.2B, DoD 8570.01M;

Experience troubleshooting/repairing computer and other electronic equipment;

Experience reporting and tracking system SW.HW faults and corrective actions taken;

Experience with electronic inventory control system reporting and tracking for equipment and spare parts inventories.
