Import Export Analyst I

Job Summary:

Assists in the preparation of license applications and agreements and monitors the export and import of technical data, hardware, and services in accordance with company policy and U.S Government export regulations and laws .

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports preparation, administration, submittal and maintenance of export licenses, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLA), Temporary Admission (ATA) Carnets, import certificates and miscellaneous correspondence to BAE Systems Inc. for submittal to the Department of State and Department of Commerce.

Supports the review and approval of foreign visitor and international travel authorization. When required, supports the review of all presentation/briefing and other information provided to foreign visitors for compliance with licenses and regulations prior to release outside the company. Provides guidance on what data is allowed to be presented to the foreign visitor and what restrictions may apply.

Supports coordination with program personnel to gather detailed information, review proposals, contracts and/or purchase orders and supports technical programmatic discussion/meetings for all products. Ensures program personnel are aware of the limits of each license. Supports program objectives and schedules by processing licenses, applications and paperwork in a timely manner.

Supports preparation of shipping documentation and import documentation to support data entry. Notifies appropriate personnel of potential errors and assist in the correction/resolution. Reviews documentation from Customs broker for accuracy. Reviews import paperwork to ensure information is accurate and correct Harmonized Traffic Code and authorization has been used.

Supports the maintenance of export related records as required by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Supports internal, external and government audits.

Acquires a general understanding of, and application of lTAR, EAR, BATFE and company export/import regulations. Increases knowledge by attending relevant seminars, BAE Systems training, and/or through self study.

Reports potential export/import violations to the Export Compliance Manager

Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.

Shares responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education High School/GED plus 6 years of relevant experience.

Experience with business systems required; preferably related to Export/Import Control such as shipping/receiving, contracts, supply chain, accounting, ethics or compliance.

Attention to detail is a must.

Preferred Skills and Education Bachelor Degree in Import/Export Compliance, International Business, Business Administration, Business Management

Import/Export Certification preferred

Previous Import/Export Compliance experience a plus.
