Impact Analysis Engineer

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer I will:
-- Review, compare, and evaluate complex Technical Data Package (TDP) drawings for manufacturing execution;
-- Analyze changes from design engineering and manufacturing and determine impact to drawings, vehicles, and bills of material;
-- Develop and maintain production drawing documentation to support manufacturing execution;
-- Possess an understanding of routings and how product flows through manufacturing;
-- Acts as a liaison between design engineering and manufacturing in natural work team meetings and discussions;
-- Helpful to have working knowledge of common manufacturing processes including machining, welding, casting, forging, painting, stamping, forming, etc.;
-- Possess an understanding of assembly of heavy equipment, automobiles, and/or defense products;
-- Possess an understanding of Statement of Work (SOW) documentation supports and directs supplier requirements;
-- Work with industrial engineering and floor support engineering to determine optimum manufacturing processes;
-- Lead or support activities for problem solving during assembly;
-- Lead or support Manufacturing startup activities/projects;

-- Analyze complex problems for process and design deficiencies and provide corrective action;
-- Develop strategies for assembly test and integration methodology for more complex problems with guidance from more senior engineers;
-- Solicit operator input, working with shop supervision, and modify/replace processes to reduce product cost and improve quality;
-- On occasion represent the company at meetings, conferences, and reviews with the US Government, customers, subcontractors, and other defense contractors if required;
-- Familiarity with Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) and Oracle;
-- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering discipline(s), industry practices, trends, and applications. Advises management on new development and programs.
-- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies;
-- Share responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.
-- Create and modify complex model-based disassembly and assembly work instructions using Creo View;
-- Be familiar with documentation for paint masking, nonskid application, and final processing operations on combat vehicles;
-- Interact amongst a diverse team environment to resolve manufacturing issues associated with production documentation;
-- Travel as necessary to other manufacturing sites to evaluate, maintain, and publish model based work instructions;

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
Must have bachelor degree from an accredited university in BS engineering.
Required Skills/ Knowledge:
In addition must be able to work in a heavy-manufacturing environment and:
-- Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary team environment;
-- Review, compare, and evaluate complex drawings for manufacturing execution;
-- Possess a working understanding of assembly of heavy equipment, automobiles, and/or defense products;
-- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies.
