IFF SCA Electronic Technician II (NEC 1571 / 1572)
The selected candidate will apply standard practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical, or other disciplines in providing support for ongoing technical programs. Work will consist of performing depot level overhaul/refurbishment of AIMS MKXII/MKIIA Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) equipment by inspecting, testing, adjusting, and certifying basic assemblies and systems for compliance with specifications and quality assurance practices; repairing malfunctions by adjusting, calibrating, aligning, or modifying circuitry using hand or power tools; setting up standard test apparatus and conducting operational tests: installing basic equipment field changes; and performing other duties as assigned. Remove and replace both through hole and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components. Assigned work shall include assisting technicians of all skill levels; performing evaluation and testing, integration of Combat Identification equipment including Mark XII and Mark XIIA; and related technical duties. Will work closely with BAE Systems personnel, subcontractors, and on site Government customers.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Skills and Education
High School diploma and at least 4 years of related experience
Active security clearance and ability to maintain
Ability to read and follow engineering drawing, change orders, work instructions, and test procedures
Ability to climb aloft for antenna maintenance and lift/carry heavy objects
Radar and digital experience
Experience with Shipboard System
Navy NEC 1571 AN/UPX-29(V) Ship System Maintainer and NEC 1572 AIMS technician
Experience with discrete component level troubleshooting, aligning and adjustment of electronic circuitry
Preferred Skills and Education
Certified Solder Technician specializing in SMT, lead free and through hole
Certified Quality Assurance Inspector
Cable fabrication certification
Knowledge of ISO, Lean Six Sigma, and/or best practices
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - Maritime (OSHA 1915) training
